I just put new tip parts in it. Maybe my drier / filter is no bueno.

Tossed the tub, well part of, back on the frame. Secured it with some new mounts. I plan to harvest some of the floor supports off my donor cab. Then use them as the 3rd pair of supports for the cab extension.

Don’t body shops have a tool that can straighten a twisted frame? Just a possible option if it does end up a little off.

Best to create a jig like apparatus to keep things square then tack weld all pieces. For frame section I would put 4 tacks on the C channel then weld top flat section of C then do the bottom of other side then when area is cool to touch weld the bottom of C section of first side welded then do other side top. Checking that it does not lift or drop. A flat bar or square tube tacked to frame will help to be removed later. After it cools then weld the web of the C channel. Grind flush and tack in your fish plates. I would make the fish plates about 12'' long but maybe thats just me.

Not much to report due to lack of time. I did round up all my sheet metal and some square stock. This is for the rear of the cab. I am planning to tackle that this weekend.

Sheet metal? Wow, you're fancy. The PO who built my half-cab parts truck used plywood. Looks great! : )

I got tomorrow off work, so it's game on. Getting stuff mocked up to start the rear cab rebuild. WIll measure and square it all up.....then start the fab work. I plan to reuse as much as possible from the donor.
I also have the inspector scheduled for tomorrow. Starting the process for getting a title.

It's a jagged ugly piece for sure. Torch cut edges for style and some random sheet metal screws. It will not be reused.

Mostly likey a V8. Probably done years before 4 cylinder diesels were popular. Also still had à three or a 40 series 4 speed. Today if I wanted a V8 (which I don't) would be four or five speed with a 60 series top cover.
Thought this one was bad. But nothing like yours.

I installed a 74-78 in my 68 when I did installed a H42. Had to trim the bad and few other mods but made the four speed a cleaner install.

Idk why the material was removed between the 2 holes, but I do understand why the trans shifter hole has been elongated. I did the same thing but i made a plate to cover the elongation. It most likely had a V8.
