Does anyone know of anything available for lower gearing? I have a 1980 FJ40, 2F, H42 and was looking for a Marlin Toybox, which I understand they have been discontinued. Does anyone know of anything available to get the ratio in 1st gear to around 100:1?

You can re-gear the differentials, use an H55F transmission with split transfer case and have it geared with 3:1 or 4:1 transfer case. You can also use other 4 speeds or NV4500 that have lower first gears than the H55F. There are aftermarket transfer cases with a lower low range gears available.

SM420 and Orion
7x4x4.11 = 115:1

H41 and Orion
4.99x4x4.11 = 80.5

Buy a 19 spline H42 from an FJ60, or better yet, buy a new H55f, find a split case, put crawler gears in the splitcase, and put a NWF black box doubler between the H55f and splitcase. Not cheap, but its an option.

You can also direct swap a pair of 4/11s differentials into both axles. If the stock axles are under it you currently have 3/70s.
H55 and split case, SM420 or SM465 will get you pretty low as well.

My differentials are not stock and are 5.29. Looks like I can go with a TC like an Orion with 4.1 which will put me at 77:1, past that is a different trany if I’m understanding correctly.

Correct
If you swap to an H41 ($$)...
4.5x4.1x5.29 = 98.7
