I’m a sucker for new tire treads.

BFG about to release a KO3 from what I can tell from Baja 1000 stuff

That's exciting, can't wait to see them.

I have been working on a 40 on the side lately and when I finished it I tossed it out for sale and a guy in Colorado jumped on it.

I’ve had a hard top cap for @cbmontgo and @RustyNailJustin has had some 2F parts for me so I worked a deal to deliver the 40 and swing through the rest of Colorado for the other stuff

I left Christmas Day and made it to Tulsa. Weather was cold. Winds were good. 10 mpg.

Traveling on Christmas day is so weird. Only thing open is gas stations and they are barely stocked.

The next morning it was 35* in Tulsa and it was supposed to be 45 in Denver so I assumed I was out of the deep freeze

Wrong. By the time I turned on to I135 the temps were down to 11 degrees and the roads were iced over.

It was a white knuckle situation until I made it to I70. After that I turned west into a 35 mph headwind.

The 200 is a great tow sled until you have to slow down and fight a headwind. One tank I got 6.5 mpg.

The poor 40 got a salt bath but I blasted it off in Limon

I met up with the new owner @shellb and dropped Moe Green at its new home

My family flew in the next day and we went to Meow Wolf and did a Cirque De Sole show. Ate a bunch of good food. Weather was crazy warm

This morning I woke up and the Whale was under 5” new snow.

I dropped the family off at the terminal and headed to Divide to grab my trailer

Carson lives in the coolest place with views of Pikes peak. Lots of snow and ice but the Whale ate it up.

The new Recon Grapplers did awesome in the snow.

From Divide it was Snow for an hour and then it dried up as I made my way to Classic Cruisers.

I got the platinum tour and we went to Salida for lunch.

If you need 40-55-60 parts. These guys have it. Thanks @Ratboy for the tour

I made it across Monarch Pass with a lot of snow and a trailer.

This 200 is a beast in the snow.

Beast.

Tomorrow I’m headed to Ridgway and hopefully the weather will let me take this 200 south out through Durango.

Stay tuned.

I slept in this am knowing Justin would not be at his shop until 10 am.

Sunrise burrito and then met Justin at his awesome house on the mountain south of Ridgway

When I was waiting for Justin I hit the maps to go south to Durango and 550 was shut between Ouray and Silverton so I was planning to head west toward Telluride

Just as I was leaving the route through Silverton showed as open so I took a shot and towing a 22’ trailer hit the road

It was awesome. 550 is one of the best paved drives in the US and I enjoyed driving it on snow better than creeping behind RVs in the summer hands down.

At Durango I opted to stay in the mountains and headed east to Pagosa Springs and then south to Santa Fe for a Blake’s Lottaburger

I’m out for the night at Santa Rosa.

Tomorrow more Cruiser parts to grab around Ft Worth

It's a fun drive on two wheels as well. Sadly I have never seen it in winter. On a side note, how many miles are on your 200 now?
115,000 tomorrow morning

Been on that same road a few times and never gets old. The Drive from Durango to Ouray in the fall is stunning as
well.

Lots of driving and eating today. Pressing it home today. Should be home in 2022 by an hour.

Recon Grapplers get a 10. Love them. Quiet. Great traction.

Picked up a second 2F in Texas.

Spent the morning unpacking and taking inventory of all the parts I picked up along the way.

I blasted as much Mag Chloride as I could off the Whale and my trailer and closed the chapter on this adventure.

While I was gone the relic stash grew by one. Stay tuned in the 40 section for more on this one.
