The fan in the thread I sent you has a deeper offset back onto the clutch. They are cheap. Buy one.

Good question for @cruiseroutfitSo Aisin FANB75020 from Kurt.
Hopefully it fits on the stock fan clutch I have on it.
Ever notice how you start collecting "not quite the right" parts during a car build?
And just like that, I figured out the problem.Good question for @cruiseroutfit
He may have a shorter snoot pump.
There is no way you should be having this issue. I’ve stuffed 5-6 2Fs in early 40s with no issues. It’s close but it works
Nolen, I didn't realize you have a 40 also, I've just seen your fleet of gorgeous 60's lol... can't hide money.Look how far my fan fits back on the clutch. It covers it completely.

Good you got it to fit but that cross member sure looks like it’s the factory riveted install. And the drivers side radiator mount is longer than the passenger mount because of the pto. And the cross member isn’t symmetrical wrt the centerline of the rig. Something else is up with your rig.
Should be a hole for it in your dash, one of the lower knobs.First, the internets tell me this is the heater control. Where does it go, exactly? Assuming it didn't normally dangle like that.
Well, poop. It seems I have a full set of heater controls in the dash and then that darned thing just hanging there.Dash Configuration Reference
I would like to start a reference thread documenting the stock layout of 40 series dashboards. I think it would be useful to show a picture of the entire dash, side-to-side... or maybe 2 slightly overlapping pictures to increase our ability to see what is there. Along with this we can add...forum.ih8mud.com
Yep.One of those H is for a rear heater and the other is front heater blowers 2 speed switches if I remember correctly
That looks more like a hazard switch (?-possibly?) not a heater control switch. Also, is the middle upper switch the headlight switch (to the left of the makeshift dash light). If it is, it's in the wrong place and that is where the hazard switch would reside.Since I'm waiting on parts, I addressed some other issues.

For those who run Weber carbs, is this turned 180 degrees or is it just me?
Headlight is left of the steering column. The hazard switch is where it goes and is fully accounted for. That is an "extra" switch. I'm going to unwind some of the loom and try to figure out what kind of chicanery that switch is for. That looks more like a hazard switch (?) not a heater control switch. My money is the hazard switch I don't see one on your dash. It should have a red knob. Also the wire colors look like turn signal wires which would indicate possible hazard switch. The little black knob should be the interior light.Yep.
Both of those work and are wired correctly.
But the question is, what is the third heater switch hanging there for?
