Hang in there boys. Pla wheels did not hold up so I am going back to PETG wheels.

Also the carbon fiber petg parts are getting more tuned. I cranked up the Temps for better adhesion as there are weak spots/gaps at 235 C but not at 250 (right). Left gear will snap near the top, right will not. Just the little things I'm trying to get right before I ship off next batch of parts.

Anyways, I have a few piles of tuner parts but we are getting there.

She is improving. I'm thinking drop temp another 5 (currently 245) and we will have our balance between good adhesion and quality. I've messed with 230 to 250 and 240 is probably the spot.

There's not really much left to fine tune at this point, just hope for things like no power outage and we can put this print on repeat.

Can you make this:

He sells the 3d printer files for the body and interior.

Even if you can't mass produce them, I would pay you to buy the files and produce the parts. I don't have a 3d printer and it isnt in my future.

I'd you send me the files I will gladly give it a go. Also update, I now have 2 gearboxes and going to make the third/keep refining as I go.

Yep. The linear rails and hotend parts arrived yesterday, so i am rebuilding everything one at a time starting today, but i also need to wrap up shelves (the storm costed me a batch of shelf brackets). Lots of work this month and i'm thinking the only way to keep up is via the twitch.tv/baothebuilder channel. I will enable VODs today so that you can skim through my workdays as if you are watching a youtube video, simply because i may not have as much time for updates, and you guys don't have time to keep asking. With VODs you can check my progress on your own time and at your own pace. After this week, i am hoping each printer will have it's own camera and i will label each scene with what is printing, and who it is printing for. I will also set up a streamyard so you can check in on just the prints, and skip all the behind-the-scenes stuff i have to do to keep the machines running.

After shelves/printer mods, i am setting up a 24/7 seperate livestream for the Mud related prints. These include more than just RC parts, and will get a dedicated channel; something like Mud Manufacturing.

Meanwhile, Dory is still full time on gear boxes. She has put out 4 so far and will begin 5th shortly. I also have the Trident running and working on getting a fleet of ABS machines up, starting with making my own ABS hotend parts to speed up ABS production; this could change the direction we go with the rest of the parts. ABS can be left in the car in the middle of the desert and likely survive.

Shelves are getting done today, at least this phase of it.

After breakfast and coffee we will open with the Trident for the new parts @rhart , and a KP5L and Genius Pro for filling in missing parts.

Also, a little bad news. Not sure if covid or a scam, but after about 3-4 weeks with no tracking I had to cancel my last order of $300 worth of electronics for you guys, and they refunded me for it. I paid for 10-day ship and asked for tracking 5 times over 20 days with no luck. Seller says covid shutdown in shengzen and i will give him benefit of the doubt, but to play it safe I will reorder elsewhere. I will work on that this week and try for 10-day ship again.

@glennjenn i will give it another attempt at sorting out some parts for you this week. I've been super swamped and sorry it's taking so long.

Sometimes the biggest updates are seemingly the smallest ones.

First thing I did yesterday was install Ubuntu (LINUX operating system/alternative to Windows and Mac) on two old laptops from 2010, took a while because windows 7, SSDs and old BIOS. This is important because using more powerful software (Klipper and Mainsail( means I need more computing power; and learning how to convert recycled PCs means I can scale up computing power at virtually no additional cost. These recycled PCs are free or virtually free and can be connected to many printers, versus Raspberry pis being expensive (covid global shortage) and usually can only handle 1.

Second, One of the things that came with the linear rails is this auto input shaper chip. It's only job is to measure resonance frequency during a shakeup test (where printer sounds like its on a dyno), aka vibrations.

Then I take those values and put it into the input shaper software, which then uses it to counter the vibrations. The result is less ringing/smoother prints.

The first test print after input shaper (but before pressure advance) tuning, is at the end of yesterday's VOD; some interior parts.

Today I will do pressure advance tuning again since the input shaper values have changed, and the two affect each other. After pressure advance, Shenron will, hopefully, be officially ready to get to work. Maybe enclosures if I feel like doing today, but likely I'll just send him off for a run and enclose before ABS/next run. He's a dragon, so maybe a flight.

After that I will try to update a single blue printer to the new ecosystem (hotend, motion system, software) and get it right, before replicating those changes to the rest.

Had a couple small parts come loose and had to cancel entire print, a very ambitious one.

I added a new feature that let's me cancel portions/parts of a print and save the rest.

Now we can do full plates. I do have a live feed on this print by the way; a bed full of FJ40 RC parts.

Staying away from printing near the edge until I put up enclosures, it kept lifting to air drafts.

Middle is great though, another gearbox in the bag and Shenron is getting warmed up.

This is quality I'm happy to send off to you guys, although it will look slightly better once i turn down the temperatures by 5-10 C. I played it safe and ran it extra hot to make sure the filament flows well/no underextrusion.

I know. The onky thing slower than my printers Is Me. Current project is aimed at not only improving quality and consistency, but also to speed things up.

1 step back, 2 steps forward; Better prints are coming. We don't want a few parts looking good mud, we want every detail as it should be and that will take time. Meanwhile, I got more basher parts coming. The next 3 prints on shenron will be the current selection for stock wheels; there are more community designed models to come later.

Remember this is now officially a non profit project, so that I can focus solely on making good kits and not allow the small stuff like politics and copyright to hinder the important part; making the best kits that I can, for a community that will truly appreciate it.

Waiting on some m4x10 flat head screws to get here tomorrow to finish the linear rails for the Y axis/bed. I decided to use 2 blocks per rail so X axis will wait, and we will put them back in production with just the upgraded Y axis after (that is where upgrade was needed most, to preserve print quality over long runs).

Next 3 updates, 3 different styles of wheels in Carbon Fiber PETG; for the rigidity but also for the tensile strength so it does not crack easily upon impact. Speaking of which, I have some HIPS (high impact filament) that I am building a hotend for; maybe bumpers.

Right now these parts are basically snapped together. Are there any instructions on what size screw is to be used in the different parts?
 
Finally caught up with work from being on vacation and managed to order some drill bits. Should have them tomorrow.
