My tech stream shows bank 1 sesnor 1 code. I want to replace the sensor, but have a question on the part. The Lexus dealer wants $220, and Advanced Auto has two different Denso parts that both say they are for the upstream sensor. The dealer is also further away, by about 20 minutes, so I don’t want to drive that far unless it is needed.

So which sensor should I get, and/or should I replace both sensors since the vehicle has 318,000 miles?

Which month and year vehicle?

This should show you what you need.

FYI they're $43 on Amazon. I would only replace what's needed but know that the other *may* fail in the near future.

I have a 2005 LX470. So if I’m reading it right, the Denso parts are interchangeable even if the Toyota parts are different. I assume sensor 1 bank 1 is left side???

Which vendor? Do you have a link?

You'll need to know if your LX was manufactured before or after May, check your VIN. Then you'll either need PN 234-4138 (before 5/05) or 234-9051 (after 5/05). If you're after May, you're out of luck, it's going to be $100 ea.

Looks like I’m good.
