I just picked up an SBC swapped 1970 that has a totally trashed electrical system. I'm not even gonna bother trying to piecemeal repair it, and I've got a gaggle of experience doing electrical work, but I've never had to source the wire myself. Anyone have a favorite source, outside of mcmaster-carr, for lower cost SXL and GXL wire?

4RCUSTOMSWIRE.COM as mentioned above and Coolerman for rest of the gauges you need.

Given you’ve got a SBC, a GM steering column, and likely a GM alternator, I’d serious consider an aftermarket wiring harness. They are usually a pain to integrate with all the Toyota stuff, but they are generally designed to work with Chevy columns.

I don't know if that person is still around.

He may not be on mud but he is still around. Think the demand for new harnesses was overwhelming. Believe his store is still selling parts. No as time consuming selling parts as building a harness.
