Gonna start tearing apart this bad boy this weekend. 265k on original head gasket. Will do a HG and all seals, gaskets and ancillary stuff. Hopefully the cylinder walls look great. Not sure if I will sell or keep as a spare TBD.

Not mine...and not even an 80...but one thing I did this weekend is watch The Terminal List on Amzn Prime, which features an absolutely gorgeous FJ62.

I made it to episode 5, but that LC is beautiful. Wonder if the actual owner is here on Mud.

Got the first half of this project done this morning. Not really an audiofile but thought it might be fun to have some subs - my teenagers were a little persuasive. Need to tidy up the wiring a bit now that I know it all works. I wanted to keep the stock head unit for the nostalgia of the early 90s. Added a bluetooth deal in the cigarette lighter and upgraded the door speakers. Sounds a lot better than expected. Hidden sleeping platform and decorative faceplate for the drawers and around the fridge next.

Anyone have a lead on some auto carpet that color matches the '94 80 series? Debating putting some on the top.

That's super nice! I have always wondered about that fridge and if it would be big enough for more than a few nights out. I would guess no but who knows. It sure is nice that the rest of the top is flat and can be used for whatever.

Got my tunes going today. Alpine ilx-w650 head unit, Jensen 5.25 two ways all four doors (po), Skar 350.1 sub amp, Image Dynamic 8 inch sub in sealed box rear ps trim panel. Mounted the amp where the CD player once occupied. Currently sitting on tailgate enjoying tunes and watching the fireworks 🎇

Mechanic changed the steering wheel metal bracket (it a LOT of play in it), fixed the windshield wiper jets not working.
Such civilized handling now compared to before.

Repaired AC piping (Melted from exhaust from my last repair)

Found out a part time 80 series can do low range 2wd......

I forgot I had unlocked the front hubs and I put the rig in low range to descend a steep rocky stretch of trail.

It worked fine so I figure it's safe to use low range 2wd.

Also busted an exhaust hanger, time to fire up the welder.

Yeah definitely a smaller fridge. As cool as it would be to do longer trips, the reality for me is quick overnighters and day trips close to home are going to be much more common. So I decided to give this a shot. And yes, nice to have the flat area.

Same, been mulling it over for awhile now...Delta has a nice mount for a center console fridge as well. Both would be perfect, drawer for food, center for beverage.
