I am starting a new project 76 fj40. Ok I have a 2002 dodge with a fresh rebuilt 5.9 liter I am considering using to adapt to stock fj 4 speed.. Second chose sell dodge and buy 5.7 Chevy V8 and then adapting to fj 4 speed. All advice or opinions are much appreciated.

Torn the rig down today. Very pleased. 2 spots of rust actual rust holes. 1 in rear beside driver side by door latch. And other one beside shifter cover.

You'll probably find that support for SBC/LS engines is better. Take a look at the cost for necessary adapters and that they are even available. You might also want to consider an engine with EFI.
