I need a new battery tray. Mine's twisted. And rusted. Usually, I fix these things, but I have a lot of needy bits on my new to me 40, and the time it would take to restore it would cost me more than the price of a new tray. I'm amazed at how many parts are still available. Anyway...

There are two battery trays listed:

and 74403-60050

Does anyone know what the difference is? PartSouq lists the first as for FJ4x "N50" and the second for BJ40/FJ40 "N70Z" (whatever those cryptic numbers mean).

Other than the fact that Amayma's is shiny, I can't tell the difference.

I believe the 60011 (10-3/4" length) is for early and 60050 (12-1/4" length) is for later yrs.

The larger tray started as an option around 1/79 or so. It will fit in an older engine bay if you want to run a size 27 battery. The smaller is for a size 24.

N50 and N70Z are the Japanese market battery sizes, which as AntFarm noted are equivalent to a USA group 24 and group 27.
Wunderbaer! I love trivia.

74403-60011 it is! Many thanks to all for the help!

Note that as for a lot of things this was market dependent, my 1974 has the big battery tray from factory.
Depending of the good will of your importer and the year you could have the small or the big one...

In a N70Z size battery you can fit a 95-100Ah battery nowadays, that's nice for those days when you are cranking and cranking and cranking trying to start your flooded engine x)
