It's an SDT 2200 lbs hoist. Here's the invoice he sent me from when he bought it a couple years ago. It just sat in the garage and he never opened it.What electric hoist?
Very true. I have enough projects all the time where I'll use it again. Figured a purchase was more worthwhile.@baktasht great call on backing away from this idea. That was definitely going to be an accident waiting to happen. You probably could have just rented a picker to get the engine pulled.
Very neat setup! I love all the pulley action to get it to work with a single winch.I built something similar to get my (now sold) RTT+awning off the LX. Details are here: Builds - eatSleepWoof's '14 LX - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/eatsleepwoofs-14-lx.1112565/page-15#post-13389947
I estimated the tent+awning+hardware+crossbars to be around 260lbs. No issues lifting that weight at all. An engine will be much heavier, though.

Nice!! If I had attic access above mine I would have given it a go with additional bracing. Love your setup! Before you freak out, I’ll tell you that I have attic access above my garage and each anchor for the unistrut is mounted to a 4”x4”x6’ fence post laying across 3 ceiling joists with a length of 5/8 all thread passing through it and a metal plate secured with nylock nuts to spread out the load.
