Has anyone figured out how to repair the climate control unit when it starts going haywire? The temp knob just makes the temp bounce around within a degree or two, and the same for the blower speed knob. Dealer has a new one for way too much money, and I'm not looking for used as it would show the same problem in time/age. Help!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you can swap to manual controls?
It's possible, but it's not just the control unit. It uses different cabling with the adjustment motors vs the manual controls, as well as a different dash bezel and surround. I'm not a fan of the faux wood grain but at least it currently matches.

I know those things can be very temperamental especially being 20 years old at the newest. There are a few companies on eBay that can rebuild it for ya, it might be worth reaching out to one of them for some guidance.

I sent mine to the guy who advertises on EBay. He sent me a rebuilt one about 6 years ago and I have had zero issues since. 2000 limited.
