Made the old girl go topless today... looking forward to summer!

Still need to figure out a tailgate, order mirrors and take the doors off.

Made some good progress on visual finishes and getting parts off the garage workbench. I finished straightening my side steps and cut/installed new white pyramid mat. Thanks to @pardion for the patina hardware to keep these looking original-ish.

I had been after a certain aftermarket rear bumper that was a dealer add-on for FJ40/ and SWB Fj45 trucks. A member pointed me to one on craigslist in Phoenix, which is about 6hrs away. I was able to pay for it and get it picked up my a member of another forum who was in the area for a conference. I finally crossed paths with him last weekend and now have the bumper installed. Matches the patina of the truck perfectly!

I parked the cruiser for 30 minutes and when I returned there was oil dripping from the timing gear cover(so I think). I tried to tighten the 2 lower bolts and just made things worse.

Here's a piece of cardboard after a minute of being place under the drip

Its frustrating, as I've replaced the gasket multiple times now. This latest SNAFU happened about 1,000 miles after replacing the gasket.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I used the FIPG on both sides of the gasket, just like when I did the oil pan.
Its been suggested that I only use the FIPG. That the gasket is not necessary if using the FIPG. I am inclined to try it. Any insight from those who have gone through this?
Are you sure it’s not between the plate and block that’s leaking? Mine is leaking a little from there but I’m just dealing with it for now.

Seat recovering party this weekend, not reinstalled yet but it sure is nice to have all of that nasty out of there.

Here is a link to all the photos from me and all the Proffitt's guys: Cruise Moab 2022 - Google Drive - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JGdAlz08GJ-SChJ7A9wchd7H8n1iwdPC?usp=sharing. There are some great videos of the Megacruiser and others in there as well. If you were on any of the runs with me, and have photos you want to add, or just want to stick some in, give me your email and I will add you as an editor.

After 2 years of owning 3 FJ40s I came to the realization I had 1 too many and it was time to cull the herd. This is what I planned on advertising in Mud:

Zeke side.JPG

The universe works in mysterious ways, my brothers - on the 24th a fellow Mudder posted a Want to Buy in the Mud classifieds and I sent him a PM. The whirlwind began, and following a flurry of PMs, e-mails, texts and phone calls, last Friday he showed up in my driveway after driving from Alabama to New Mexico (left Thursday afternoon!) Next thing I knew my wife was taking this picture:

My head's still spinning - deal done and he hauled it all the way back to Alabama!
