Hey All,

I have a intake manifold with a broken sensor or bung of some sort and unclear if wtf it is or if it’s important and what the part is to replace if so. No wires just a vacuum hose.

Any have an idea of what this dohicker is and what it does?

Thanks you!

That's called a gas filter (not to be confused with a fuel filter.

Depending on year, some have two vacuum hoses, some have one.

It tells the IAC valve and another valve what to do. Yes, you need it.

^this^
Replace and roll.

Is this actually needed? Mine was broken off when I bought the car and put a straight barb in it. Should I buy a replacement one or keep the barb in there?

last I checked its supposed to help you start your engine faster. I didn't notice a difference, but maybe because mine still has an issue with a leak in the fuel system.

Yeah I’m wondering if it would make a difference for me, apparently it can affect the IAC and my car idles like absolute rubbish
