The compression on several of my cylinders on my 1980 HJ45 "H" engine is low so I'm entertaining the idea of rebuilding the engine. After a quick search, I only found one overhaul parts kit and it was for a forklift H engine. It included pistons, rings, and cylinder sleeves. Is the engine in my HJ45 sleeved or is it just the industrial engine that is sleeved? Is there any reason that I couldn't use the forklift kit?

Yes, all H Engines are sleeved, there was only one variant of them as well I believe.. at least in Landcruisers. I would say there's a high chance the forklift kit will be an exact match.

Good to know. Thanks for the response.
