Found one I could not pass on. 2/69 40. Bought from original owners family, California truck, no rust, 34,000 original miles. Been sitting in a shop, as is, since 1980. It’s all there but disassembled and in boxes. No history on the top….? Have the F145 and tranny/ tcase for it.
Just need original front seat/bench for it. Please let me know if you have one!
I will start the cleaning and assembling with progress pictures to come.

Very nice find

There is a really nice dune beige hard top on facebook marketplace in Squaw Valley for $1000. Would look good on there!

Looking closer at the pictures, it seems there was a different engine as the motor mounts look non-original.

Yes, the family said he was starting to do a V-8 swap. He got the new mounts put in and that’s where he left it.

Purist, probably to a fault….
I am glad to hear that. I believe the FJ40 was a legend all thru the years. Nothing against all who restomod them because they are great as well. The FJCO has some real nice upgrade's to modern driving ,but, the price is HUGE. The FJ40 was made well enough and diverse enough to allow this still being done in 2021, when the last ones new were in 1984.

I have front seats from a 2/71, was going to use them on my 5/68 which was titled as a 69. I am on the fence on going to aftermarket buckets.

I'll know in about 1-2 months when I get to that stage
