There's an OEM Toyota locking cap believe it or not. @ToyotaMatt may still have some. He's swamped right now though so might be a bit getting back to you.

any good recommendations or existing threads about a solid locking gas cap for an 86 60?

8./80 - 1990 FJ60 / FJ60

fuel Door lock cylinder is NLA / DISC.

i am 1 PARSEC away from having my first batch or FULL on reproductions in hand

i have my first porotypes and they SCREAM OEM quality and FIT form function

- FACT :

NOT all FJ60 , 61 , and Series had a Locking Fuel Door , MOST did in USA spec regions

however , globally NOTTA for the most part hence the NOS locking ones exist here at the skunk works LAB still a bit ........

that part number cross references to a 1973-1978 Corona. I'm not saying it won't fit. Rock Auto returns "cheap" Gates and Stant caps. But this is a part that would be a bummer if it breaks when installed.

A word of advice to anyone who has the OEM locking gas cap: Be sure to lubricate it fully before the winter months! I had mine freeze in -5 degrees in Montana last February. So there I was standing outside at the gas pump dribbling methanol over it until I could unlock it and fill my tank in St. Regis. I had snot-cicles by the time I got back into my truck!
