What year model body were you able to source?
It’s a 2020 body, still had the plastic on it in some places. Got it from @LeRoy Cordova took delivery in March of this year.

Been happy with the one in my 100 series, as most of us know they’re extremely reliable. They just like gas a lot.

True. timing belt and maybe a starter for preventive maintenance and you're good for 200k.

Hopefully with a few hundred pounds less to lug around it's not too bad? What sort of MPGs are you getting in the 70? I'm sure it pushes that 70 along nicely with the HF2A (assuming full-time?).

Keep the photos coming. It’s cool when you are willing to share what is obviously a very high-end 79 Series build. 👍

Yeah you feel the weight difference when accelerating. Haven’t had a chance yet to calculate mpgs. Yes currently full time, considering going part time maybe.

Full time is too awesome to take out. I spent all that money to do it on an 80 once and literally could not tell any difference except I often lost traction in wet weather.

That’s actually one of my main concerns, losing traction if I were to go part time.

I'll echo what @wngrog said. Full time is really a great setup and the drivability is so helpful in daily driving. My 1st gen Tundra (with a vLSD) would spin on rainy days if I wasn't careful. I wish that thing had full-time.
I think I will definitely be keeping her part-time.

*correction*
(I actually meant to type “I think I will be keeping her full time”)

Great build, looks oe.

One question, where did you get the front gas tank? Local source or imported? I have a modified LRA tank in the rear of mine, but would love to put the front tank in as well.
Thanks, I appreciate it! I would have to say that your truck was my inspiration for building this one when I first saw it years ago.

I bought the tank from mega zip, would’ve got it from partsouq but they were out. Probably not the best route nor the cheapest but I had to have it so I paid for it.

My frame extension work. I had pieces bent up to the match the factory frame rails and made about 13.00” long. They’re basically two c-channels one fitting inside the other. Also had an outer “cap” bent up from 0.250” to wrap over the top and bottom of the frame rails, this was made longer so it would extend past each end of the “inner” extension joints by about 4.5”.

Where are those photos? 😁
Ok, ok 😄 some photos of the frame after the extension, I cut off all the body mounts except the rear cab mounts and also cut out the front crossmember as I planned on using the 79 series front crossmember. Was pretty happy with the cleanliness of the frame, maybe a tiny amount of surface rust, paint was still good just faded.
