Welcome!
Beautiful! Love the red interior.
Do you have a wish list yet? Or should I say, what's NOT on your wish list?? ;)

Nice looking trucks. Is your Taco brand new too?

Thanks! And yes, the Taco was purchased the same day. My brother and I had been saving for a while and well, decisions were made haha. His is a TRD Off Road and comes with the factory 2inch lift.

Very nice! Just curious, I have a 2022 ordered, and my dealer said the first shipload wasn’t supposed to dock until the 15th. Did they get here early?

I happened to get lucky with mine - I'd reached out to a salesman at a large local dealer (Longo Lexus in Los Angeles) and he managed to track down the only one that was arriving. It got in last Friday 9/3, and I picked it up a day later. They're not expecting another shipment for a few weeks? I guess it's because I live near one of the largest west coast ports? Not sure how this was the only one.

I never thought I'd get a car with red leather but it really does make it pop. First on the list is probably going to be wheels/tires. I come from the track/motorsports world and have had far too many wheels/tires for my car. The Michelins are buttery smooth but don't look too useful on dirt. Then maybe drawers and a rear tire carrier/bumper? There's too many options!

Just picked up a brand new 2022 GX460, and can't wait to eventually get the thing off road. The newness factor hasn't worn off yet obviously, but I'm already planning parts and am super glad I'm able to join here.

Lift, then wheels tires. Trust me. You’ll want bigger if you don’t lift it first.

I think my Nori Green GX just got on the boat from Japan on the 4th so I have a ways to go yet.

Yours looks great though and I love the red interior and gray exterior!

How do you like the touchpad for the screen? Is the screen still full touch or do you need to use the touchpad for certain things?

ETA: I'm looking at getting a set of Falken Rubitrek's for it and having the dealership road force balance them and then do an alignment.

Alignment on a brand new car? I couldn’t see that as necessary unless you change the suspension.

It's cheap insurance when replacing tires or even when just getting a new vehicle considering how much tires cost nowadays. The Yaris my wife bought many years ago was completely fubar from the factory. It was shredding the tires. Once we got it aligned it completely changed the handling of the vehicle and the tire shredding went away.

ETA: I did order the Rubitreks and they'll be here on Friday.

I’m new here but thought I’d share a pic of my rig from this past weekend

I just love this truck.

I went to my usual stomping grounds to go explore the side canyons some more. Nothing difficult, just a great trip with my daughter listening to good music and visiting beautiful places. The weather is starting to cool off, I feel like my recreation season is just getting started.

We're supposedly fossil hunting, as I've read that they're prolific here. But I don't have a clue what I'm looking for, or in what band of the sediment I should look, so we just wonder around and pick up rocks for a couple hours. It's pretty great.

Here's my budding canyoneering paleontologist at work.

There are probably hundreds of little canyons like this to explore on foot. I've been going back for years and never seen the same place twice. But no fossils yet.

You could always come on over, purchase one and ship it back! Or are U.S. vehicles not allowed in Sweden? You are left hand drive, correct?
*smile* To bring in a foreign car that is newer than 30+ years, and never been sold in Sweden before, is almost impossible. This is because of all verifications and paper work regarding emissions and collision/safety. If the car has been sold on the market here, then easier.
Unfortunately the LX460 never came here. Only the Land Cruisers.

Is it possible that there's ANYPLACE with stricter emissions than California???? o_O
Unbelievable!!!
I'd be willing to bet almost anything that a California car would pass. But you'd still have to go through all the hassle in your country to prove it. Then even if you did prove it, they may not just on principle. If they let you, then that sets a precedent for everyone else. :(
