Shock bushing question (1 Viewer)

My Dobinsons shocks came with these metal bushings - am I to use these inside the rubber bushings to fit on the shock stud?

The rubber bushings fit on the stud without them, but I could squeeze the metal bushing in with some effort.

My old rough country shocks had no metal inserts.

It’s an adapter they provide, if you need it, which you don’t.

Thanks - I thought it might be intended to keep the rubber bushings from being crushed.

FWIW: I tighten my castle/crown nuts up to the point where I can just get the cotter pin in. No ‘crushing’ the rubber that way.

I see - my shock studs just have regular nuts and aren’t drilled for castle nuts.

Ah, well, just don’t crank them down flat….
