This looked interesting. Don't think Mr. T made that top.

Brought it home and said goodbye to the RV top.

Name comes from the plate. It was that or "The Doctor", because it came with a lot of empty Dr. Pepper cans.

Looks nice with some bows. Only parts of the original door bows survived, they are in the last pic.

In a weird way, I kinda liked the top....🙄
However, if it was mine and I had another lid, I would’ve trashed that one also....

Looks like a nice solid base.

Wow, Keith, what a solid fst!! I did think the top was pretty cool!! But I am too a purist! You my friend have fallin under the teq spell of doom, as you will never again be able to find an early cruiser for sale and NOT buy it!!! Its OK, I am still alive and well under the spell for 30 years!!!

It looked good on the outside, it reminded me of R2D2. But it had dry rot. It served its years well I reckon, protecting the body. I've offered it up locally if someone wanted it for a pattern. @whitey45, need another one?

Awesome find!!! You are on a roll my friend.
That top is definitely funkalicious :grinpimp:

Loving the sun visors.

in a way a bit disappointed the top wont live on. cant help but picture turning that into a pop up camper like FWC used to have for blazers and broncos. truck looks really good shape though.

Wow, that looks like a fantastic find! Very solid. I love an FST and finding one with a 3 or 4 on the floor is very nice. The things Id do for an all-original, pretty much rust-free, floor shifted FST.....

Thats a rare piece, very nice, enjoy.

May take time but their is a cure. I have reframed from buying any 40 series for almost ten years. I am actually slowly selling them off. Couple months and will have had the first one 47 years. So it does take quite a while.

She's from Southern Oregon, around Cave Junction. A miner who collected things (lots of things) passed away. His son sold it the guy I bought her from about six months back. He graciously shared these pics of the recovery from the forest primeaval.

Her dreams you ask? A tall ship and a star to steer her by. This truck's going camping again, that's for sure.

P.O.'s new wheels, before her bath.

Part of the miner's son's deal included this old tire . The seller in turn presented it to me. I wanted the truck and didn't look this particular gift horse in the mouth.

Holy guacamole. This truck just got 100 times cooler. I cant say I like the new wheels, but I absolutely LOVE everything else about it. The steel they used in the earlier 40s must have just been awesome. I cant believe that thing doesn't have more rust. I think a 79+ sitting like that would have had holes all in it by now.

Thanks @studawg. I have two proper rims with hubcap clips in nice original grey paint. I would like to get 3 more nice ones in original paint to do her justice. If anyone has one, or all three, let me know.

I am at awe, excited and also EXTREMELY jealous. Fantastic! I am beginning to think YODA is a better name... TO - YODA.

First camping trip, straight to the Dagobah system.

That’s literally the dream. Find an abandoned classic in a field with a great body, and extremely dirty.....that would be the dream for me to find.
