There are sooo many threads and I have read many, but I am still confused as to what size is best for my purposes. I have an 05 TLC with stock 18” wheels. Suspension is a mild lift with torsion bars cranked and maybe the addition of a slight lift spring in rear. Ironman Bullbar w winch. Eventually rock sliders. Basically a mild off-road setup for daily driving and light off road. I have decided on the BFG KO2 tire. Now what size? Below is list of sizes that supposedly fit. What I don’t know is why would I pick one of these over the other? Thanks for help.

275/60/18 - 30.99 in (stock)

285/65/18 - 32.59 in

275/70/18 - 33.16 in ( will fit, no rub at turn, no rub at full stuff )

305/65/18 - 33.61 in

285/70/18 - 33.71 in

275/70r18, IMO.

The 285/70r18 is pushing 34" territory and may require some work to keep from rubbing.

For the price difference between the 275/70/18 and the 285/70/18 in the ko2 it’s not worth it and the difference in money would be the price of upgraded rear coils. I feel like the 285/65/18 is a bit wider and fills the wells nicely for vehicles that don’t result in much increased lift due to upgraded rear coils and Tb cranks. If you’re trying to inch toward thirty four, get 295/70/18, upgrade your rear springs, crank your torsion bars and hammer the pinch welds.
That will fill the wheel well nicely and have an improved stance factoring the stock wheel offset.

Easy question, easy answer. 275/70/18. Or the 285/65 if it's cheaper for some strange reason.

Juice isn't worth the squeeze on those other large sizes for mild trail use. Keep it simple. You're never going to be on a trail thinking "Man, if only I had that extra .25" of sidewall height to get over this obstacle." Tiny difference in performance, significant difference in work/price.

I want to know if a 265-60-R18 is ok to replace with 265-60-18

I thought I would follow up my post with some comments on the tires now that I have driven on them for some time. I originally had street size tires. Went to BFG KO2 275/70/18 as recommended above and by many others. Immediately noticed that the truck is slower. So bigger chunkier tires definitely took a hit on nimbleness. Not huge and not like the truck was ever a sports car, but definitely noticeable. I would say it is decent trade off given these trucks are designed for off-road, not mall cruising, and need these tires. Next thing I noticed, obviously was the road noise. Not terrible, but not quiet like a street tire. They are what I would call "quiet" compared to the Nitto Ridge Grapplers I run on my Tundra. Again, a worthy trade off. They do not roar by any means, they make road noise, but not like the Nitto's. My Nitto's have a loud roar, and I think those are even quite compared to a MT. I imagine the BFG will get louder as they wear, but I hope they don't become offensive. I know that regular rotation will help. I don't think many other tires like this would be any quieter. Hope this helps others with their decision. To summarize, I would say BFG KO2 is the right choice for mostly street driving, which is what I do 99% of the time.

I have a question: Can I replace a 265-65-R18 with 265-60-18?
The factory 18" tire size should be a 275/60R18 (~31")
The 265/65R18 is ~10mm narrower and a half inch (31.5") taller than the factory 18" size.
The 265/60R18 is ~10mm narrower and a half inch (30.5") shorter than the factory 18" size.

The question would be, why are you trying to go shorter than the factory size tire?

You can, but I wouldn't.
Can I replace a 265-65-R18 with 265-60-18ll FB group for a set of 4 265-60-18 for $125.00, he’s been storing in his garage and wants gone. Also, does 18 and R18 mean the best same thing in tire size? (Such as 265-65-R18 and 265-60-18) Thx.

I would not buy those tires. If the price difference between $125 used tires of the wrong size and ~$500 new tires in the correct size is a deal breaker you might find 100 series ownership to be a bit miserable.

Sorry. My tire size is 225-60-R18. I apologize for error. Thank you for your info, well received.

This is a Toyota Land Cruiser forum, not a Chrysler 300 forum. Not sure how you ended up here. I'm sure there are dedicated 300 forums out there.
Reminds me of the reddit instances of people lost in random subreddits that have innocent sounding names. People looking for help with their pet end up asking a subreddit dedicated to BDSM.

Although, I'm now picturing a lifted 300 doing the Rubicon and I love it.
