Reaching out to the collective here for recommendations on a San Diego area mechanic to work on my FJ45 Troopy. I have a bunch of things I need to do that I initially meant to do myself, but just don't have the time... Someone reliable and affordable, and definitely familiar with the 40-series cruisers. I can pitch in over the weekend, but would be great to have someone who's done work on 40's to do the "heavy lifting"... Here's a basic list- any recommendations would be appreciated!

  • Transmission swap (have H55F and all parts needed)
  • Disc brake conversion (all four wheels- need parts/kit)
  • Parking brake rebuild or disc conversion (need parts/kit)
  • Power steering conversion (need parts/kit)
That's the start of the "list"- it goes on, but the rest of what needs to get done, I can do over time. Just want to get at least these done so I can get her out of the garage more than once every couple of weeks...!

Noah is a great resource, and definitely capable of the work..my other suggestion was to come to the Beach N Toys Land Cruiser meeting tomorrow night @ Mikes BBQ @ 7pm in Escondido and ask the group. Most guys wrench on their own stuff, but I am sure there would be some recommendations.
