How it started - my first Cruise Moab in 2014. Hells Revenge led by Mr. @sleeoffroad himself in a sweet 200. I was in a 100 then and drooled over Christo's 200 and decided to make a plan on how to get one.

How it's going - Cruise Moab 2019. My second time having the honor to lead Hells Revenge in our 200 :)

OK...
Here’s a flashback to CM 2018...

This would be @Romer heading up and over an obstacle on Steel Bender...

And... Romer’s fearless daughter hitting the same...

And that’s @TonyP... in the blue shirt and bermudas... One of the best spotters/rock-stackers, makin it work. My fat beast got up this with a few rocks thrown in by Tony.
Actually my fearless daughter (and she is) takes turns with her husband now and he was driving up while she was just to the right looking at her phone. Based on my son-in-law looking at her I can imagine him asking why she isnt taking a picture :)

I am trying to remember who was in my passenger seat :hmm:

This thread must have pictures....soon.

On a more relaxed trail (and a new favorite) called Dome Plateau, the landsvape is spectacular and varied, including some really cool caves...

We did find a surprizingly deep mud hole at the trail next to the caves, but we had just seen a week of heavy rain...

And a pow-wow with Christo & Amory re how the award was earned... ;)

PS. @mcgaskins towed Cole’s MASSIVELY heavy 200 all the way back through the trail & to town in his near-new rig! Matt should have won the trail-buddy award (but they don’t have one). ;)

Great stuff from @Romer right tgere...

To get to the bottom of Hell’s gate obstacle, (Romer’s last photo above), you first go down this:
DAB0207A-9066-4A20-8442-7549ADA3C8BB.jpeg

It feels sketchier than the photo, because you can’t see the steepest drop while driving...

To new folkd, this part of Hell’s Revenge is completely optional. Mostskip it and watch/eat while a few go for it...So no worries.

I felt like going down into hell’s gate was way worse than climb out. I’m bummed the registration is closed, hope to see y’all out there. I’m planning on camping in sand flats arriving the 11th or 12th, I’m leaving SAN the 10th and spending a night or two in Sedona.

Let me know if you want to connect in Sedona. Need to get up there to do Broken Arrow in the 200 anyway.

Yes for sure! My friend and I plan on camping on schnebly hill road near hwy 17 Saturday night and run broken arrow Sunday morning. He is in a built 3rd gen T4R.

Nice pics. Good times.
Poison Spider is the jam. Especially if you're newer to this kind of driving and want to test your comfort zone on a fairly safe but somewhat technical trail.

I feel it's way worse too. In heavy rigs you're almost in a controlled semi-slide all the way down. That part right next to the dude above where it dips down takes you by surprise. Going up is just fun, keeping your foot down and all you can see is the sky (and hopefully your spotter.)

That dude above spotting down into the Gate is me... Wish I was still that skinny.... COVID-19 was more like COVID+30 (lbs)... :hillbilly:

Ah! I didn't recognize you for some reason. Coffee hasn't kicked in. My bad!

I hear ya. Injuries and Covid go me too. I'm tubby as hell right now.

No worries... I barely recognized myself. ;)

this looks amazing! I would love to someday make a trip out here. Im guessing stock 200's wont make it too far?
I think there are plenty of trails for a stock 200.

All depends on your mood for scratched bumper covers. Many trails can be done in the 200 if you don't mind some minor scraping, others can be done with zero issues.

I am expecting some scraping on my rear bumper after I get done this year. Still have the stock in the the rear for now.

I am going to need to remember to take my 7pin connector off before I hit the trails. I am going to have to tow my tailer back home when I am done.
