Okay, super random question here. I’ll be attending a drive in movie in my diesel landcruiser, the engine needs to be off but I need to have the radio on. My question is, when I turn the key on halfway (enough for the radio to get power) the glow plugs activate, do glowplugs have an automatic shutoff after a few seconds or do they stay on until the engine it cranked? And if they do stay on, Is it it bad for them to get power for the duration of a film? (My other concern is the battery dying, but I’m not too worried considering people do drive in movies regularly)

After you turn the key halfway, can’t you back it off a quarter turn?

The acc (lights, radio ect) are powered at the same amount of key turn as the glow plugs right?

Got it. I assume I’ll be good then
If the engine has not started with in a certain preset time the glow plugs stop heating
The glow plug light comes when the circuit is energised, or should do. But thats only in the ON position.
