So, I've been thinking lately about swapping my carb for a SNIPER EFI setup with a surge tank pump in my 1981 FJ40, and as I survey my engine bay, I don't see a lot of white space to accommodate the surge tank.
I installed dual batteries back in the day, when we used to drive the 40 twenty miles out to the trailhead and wheel in remote locations where you brought what you needed to ensure you could get out of the woods and drive your rig home.
Now that my rig is an East Coast trailer queen that wheels 90% of the time in ORV parks, I'm debating the need for dual batteries, or at least 2 full size batteries. I could use the space, for sure.
I will also be replacing my single cylinder VIAIR compressor with a recently acquired ARB dual pump, so that has to fit too.
What are your thoughts?
Ignore the bungy over the batteries, that was for a road test after finishing the dual battery tray. It has been replaced with a legit steel bar.
