So I have a leak in the radiator and am about to replace it and all hoses. Will also do the water pump/thermostat, tps, on the way in. AC hasn’t worked for years and I vacuum tested yesterday and I have leaks on both the high and low sides. Clutch does start with direct 12v. Planning to change to 134a. I could try to find specific leaks or just replace the whole system for $1000 or so. this seems easier in the long run.

1. Who would you source for a replacement system? Cool stream used to be a vendor here and I just ordered the 134a conversion nozzles from them and they seemed good but are under new mgmt and are no longer vendors I don’t believe.
2. planned to desmog on the way in while I had stuff out of the way but as I followed the threads from mid 2000’s to more recent, seems like folks say that it isn’t worth the trouble. Some even replaced the parts back on after awhile (@Spook50). Truck runs fine but has the high idle I’ll need to address also. i don’t need the extra space. Worth the trouble or not?
3. Steering is loose and will need this, knuckle rebuild and maybe an ironman 2” Lift. would You guys get these done while it’s apart or do you think it matters?

Thanks for the input. D

This place used to have an A/C specialist who also happened to be a Land Cruiser Enthusiast, but he's since moved elsewhere. Don't know if he'd still recommend.

For clarification, none of the parts I removed when I desmogged have been reinstalled. It's still desmogged and runs great.

That’s the one that sold the business. New folks there are nice and helpful.

Just for clarification, the former owner was murdered during a home invasion and his heirs sold the business. I'm still in the auto parts business , now at Merle's Automotive, a regional parts supplier for southern Arizona. Direct line 520-620-9519 email: rscofield@merlesauto.com

@Spook50 it was lambcrusher trying to pass smog in cali. sorry for the disinformation. BTW with a name like spook50 you know they are always watching you from the EPA (the new enforcement arm of the gov't).

The funny part is that username came from the name of a reputedly haunted KC-135 in our fleet, 58-0050. Ironic nothing paranormal ever happened to me on that jet, and it was always my best flyer over dozens of TDYs.

I had to google it:
