Is thier a "best" motor transplant? Best diesel? Will it bolt onto the H55F? Thinking I may do this in the future. Opinons?

Short answer is no. People have success with different engine and transmission combinations all the time. It really depends on what your goals and budget are.
Easiest swap is just another Toyota engine.

Smthn that gets better MPGs and maybe more ooomph.
Sky is the limit at that point. The 3FE is great and if you did an EGR delete (depending on the smog requirements) could suffice. There is a bunch of chatter about EGR deletes on the forum right now. You could ask to see what kind of performance / mileage improvements people get.

Jeepers....just when i think im "up to date" theres another thing ive never heard of....
