I live 40 minutes or so from there. I'm 15 miles north of klamath falls.
So that's 20 or 30 miles from me. If you need anything let me know.

That’s the idea. Great recreational area and affordable. There are other lots available and they come up for sale pretty regularly so perhaps others might bag some property. My buddy Travis got a bare one acre lot. He’s down the same road as me about 700’. Really looking forward to the building part of the thread.
It will be a nice base camp. My buddy James and I have been wanting to do a winter trip around Crater Lake, perhaps you could join us. I have AT skis and skins and he was planning with snowshoes.
Key word AFFORDABLE! West coast of WA, OR and Cali are NOT and that is one of the chief for the affordability housing crisis. Enjoy.

Trip from CL property to the Deschutes River, heart of Central Oregon.

Temps were hot in the 90s. Perfect time to play and fish at the river.

The water is nice and cold 50s and supports one of Oregon’s best Trout habitats. Insect hatched provide amble food for them to grow and provide an outrageous amount of fish.

WOW is that Mount hood? I remember seeing it with ALOT more snow in the 1980s!

Actually glacier retreating is occuring in most continents

Nice property. What side of CL ?
Really don’t want this thread to become a climate debate. It’s on the east side.

I think it is pretty affordable out here. I got what I think is a good deal.
I'm 10 miles north or klamath falls right by the lake.

Headed to the CL property Friday. Beautiful drive with our typical rest stop along the Deschutes River.

Picked up plywood in Bend at the Bend Builders Outlet. The owner Danny is a bit of a Nazi. I preordered and prepaid as plywood has been moving fast even at $31 a sheet for 1/2” mill cert CDX. The forklift with while delivering or their in the yard damaged about half of my sheets. I told him I’d like other sheets and he said, “there’s no cherry picking allowed.” You get what you get. After much discussion he said he’d wave any 20% restocking charge and allow me to get replacement plywood. Travis was also getting plywood and #3 lumber. While the forklift was putting wood on my trailer we saw 2 rough bad boards. We told him we didn’t want them and again the owner came over and said Travis had to take them, “no cherry picking allowed.” We both bought over a couple grand in lumber and couldn’t understand why the owner was a complete toolbag.

Got to the property and started on my pumphouse for the well lot while Travis’s lot had too much snow to get the truck to his. Thankfully Walter was able to come over with his tractor and clear the snow.

The bathroom pad was covered with snow still and had a thick layer of ice under the snow. Before I left Friday decided to clear the pad in case I had time to start that building.

Today hope to finish sheeting it in before the snow comes.

The hardest part of building remote is material management. Getting the right materials picked, loaded, to the site, and unloaded is the most time consuming part.

Doesn't building always take longer than expected in a remote location. I know I underestimated the time it would take.

The single worst thing for me is plumbing at a remote location.

Really am enjoying following along, and it looks like you Guys are having a great time. I don't want to offend anyone, but for the longevity & structural integrity of your project you may want to get a book on basic framing and foundation techniques. I am saying this in a positive way having been in construction for over 40 years and wanting you to get most out of your investment. ;)
Thanks for posting !!

Finished sheeting the pumphouse and covered the roof. Need to order a door.
