FJ 40 Dash Pads (1 Viewer)

My 1972 FJ40 has a build date of Oct 71. I am looking for an OEM upper and lower dash pad. My lower is two pieces.

I am looking to purchase a new OEM, but want to be sure I order the correct one. With regard to the upper, I believe I want the one that is listed as fitting 69-72, however some places list it as fitting 69-72 and others with a much larger year range. Does anyone have the actual part number, or perhaps a vendor can sell me the upper and lower

I believe the 69-72 is NLA. The pad that is listed for the larger year range is the only one available, it should fit. The difference being later models had a dash pad light. I ordered one last year hoping it didn't have the molding for the light but it did. If you want to add the light you have to cut the hole for it. If you look around you can find it in the price ranging from $170-600 so shop wisely. (I had purchased it for under the $200 shipped from Japan). Also another mudder here makes repro which are quite nice and less $$. (fj40dash.com)

upper dash pad will fit all years that came with a dash pad. The only difference is there is a marked area for cut out of the dash light- but you have to cut those out.

Thank you very much. With regard to the upper. I believe there is a metal bracket that bolts to the back of the pad. Would I need to purchase that separate ? Any thoughts on where to purchase please

Use the old one assuming it's not too rotted out.
