We use the FJ60 boots on most conversions unlike the 40 boots, they NEVER crack and allow more room for a larger shifter hole in the tunnel

I finally got the hump welded up. It was a pain, as it was pretty thin. Oh well.

I widened the NV hole, per @cruisermatt 's suggestion.

I got the windshield installed with some new stainless from CCOT. I'm really liking the black accents with the gray. Pictures don't do it justice.

Overhead Console Build
I started working on the overhead console that will store most of my electronics.

Here is the rough plan:

20210122_185650.jpg

Starting with some 16 ga.

20210122_150700.jpg

Formed a little.

Measurements for the cutouts.

I think I am going to use hose clamps to secure it to the cage. I'll fugure that out later, though.

I got all the holes cut out today, and started mounting the console.

20210123_123539.jpg

Mounted. I still need to add two more hose clamps to mount to the outer crossbars.

I like how tucked up the radios and the switches will be.

It's a little plain on the passenger side, but I think I will run circuit breakers on that side so the passenger can do something if everything goes wrong.

Only thing I’ll add is when I looked at running a bikini top- space above the rollcage wasn’t as much as I thought. I figured I could sneak an overhead console in between my spreaders to house a few switches- it would have hung down to low or interfered with the bikini top. I ended up with a Bluetooth speaker and switches in the center console. Your experience may vary...

I think I will probably add a top to it. The upper lip barely sticks up past the bars, maybe an 1/8 inch. I think I should be able to stick a bikini top on ok.

I started looking at computer mounting. I am thinking I want to put the Dakoda Digital computers on a bracket built around the top of the pedal mounts.

Anybody see any problems with this? There is enough depth for the gauge cluster, and I see that it is easily accessable if you just pop the cluster off.

And the cluster in, just for funsies.

20210124_104255.jpg

I stuck on the booster and clutch master to check clearances. Its tight, with less than a 1/16 of space in a few places.

I am slowly working on getting the hump lizard skinned, as it takes a while to dry with the cold.

2 coats of ceramic and it will be done.

20210125_132217.jpg

I've been slowly getting some small stuff out of the way, like reinstalling the wiper linkage and motor, and the knobs to keep the windshield up.

20210125_132425.jpg

I got the door latches in.

20210125_132417.jpg

Its finally starting to look like the brick it is susposed to be. Yay!

I love the perseverance. Lots of people would take years to accomplish what you’ve done in weeks/months. Looking great.

Thanks! Being at home for school has really given me a lot of time to work on stuff. You ganna drop by soon?

Quick update: it's snowed about 4" in the past few hours, but I got the first coat of ceramic lizard skin down just now. It's back inside drying, so hopefully I'll be able to get the last coat down tomorrow.

New 140 Amp alternator installed.

20210126_161819.jpg

New A/C compressor

20210126_180439.jpg

Dust shield painted and installed.

20210126_180508.jpg

And starter is in.

20210126_180950.jpg

The final ceramic lizard skin is dry, and I'm planning on spraying the hump today.

I got the throttle cable installed today.

Some trimming of the stock pedal.

20210130_154906.jpg

Installed.

20210130_165228.jpg

Throttle cable to the sniper. It is a lokar sniper bracket and universal 24" cable. I have the pedal positioned about where I want it, and have about 95% of the total throw of the sniper linkage. I don't think that I need that last 5% though. 🙃

20210130_165214.jpg

I also got the hump installed. I used some NAPA matched paint, and it turned out a little dark, but I cut and polished it with some 3M Perfect-it and it lightened up quite a bit.

20210130_184036.jpg

Boots installed. It's starting to look like a car.

Wiring
I started mounting the computers today. They fit really well on the stock pedal assemblies.

BIMs mounted

20210201_120916.jpg

Main computer

20210201_123123.jpg

Installed.

20210201_133350.jpg

I got the fuse box in, as well as getting some City Racer bling installed on the clutch and brake.

20210201_173609.jpg

Brake booster and clutch master installed. I'll get around to bench bleeding the brake master bench bled and installed soon.

I started today by cleaning off the gunk from my parking brake lever and throttle.

20210202_094046.jpg

Cleaned up.

20210202_101428.jpg

Installed.

20210202_103120.jpg

I started cleaning up my steering wheel housings. I cleaned them off with soap and water, then used the first stage of the 3M Perfect-it to buff. I think it turned out great.

20210202_120810.jpg

Other side done.

20210202_121611.jpg

I also buffed the wheel pad.

20210202_121858.jpg

Here is how the steering wheel started.

The upper half was pretty sun baked, but it's more than good enough for this build.

20210202_122043.jpg

Buffed and reinstalled. I guess the PO had a wrap around it at some point, cause you can see all the bleached circles on it. Oh well.

20210202_133228.jpg

Covers reinstalled.

20210202_133241.jpg

And I got the Dakoda Digital switch mounted. I think it will be a good place for it, and it is easily accessable.

That clam shell looks great!

Thanks! I had no clue if that was going to work or not, and it seems to have worked quite well.
