Yes, which is exactly what I wanted. I know I could also just unplug the sensor on the windshield but this was more fun.
I am going to have to ask my mechanic if he can do it.. that damn "dumb" setting irks me to no end!!

Haven't posted here in a while; figure it's about time.

This morning, with another GXOR member's help, I got the Apex Overland recovery points installed:

Also recently finished up V1 of my cargo/sleep platform:

Where did you get the new key? I’m needing a spare and this looks extremely easy to do. Thanks
I bought them via 1010keys on EBay.
I think that the cost was about $30 for two keys. I chose the ones without any buttons - just the transponder chip - because I plan to keep one on a lanyard under my wetsuit during watersports and/or may put one somewhere as a hide-a-key, haven't decided where yet. If anyone wants to PM a great location, I'm open to suggestions. Regardless: as a spare key, the non-fob version works perfectly well and takes up less space.

*Notable: It took 1010keys about 2 months to send my keys to me. They say that it's due problems with getting the blanks from China. That seems plausible to me, so I'm not going to besmirch their good name - many Mudders have had a better experience. Mine was a good experience in that the keys are exactly what I wanted, but it took a long time and their communication was on the quiet side of mediocre.

As for programming: it's really easy.
The one caveat is that I'm told that there is a limit to how many keys the car can recognize. I think it is six. If you already have 6 recognized, you can't add more unless you use TechStream or the dealer. (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm mistaken).

Pulled the trigger on a once-mounted, never-driven set of Vors VE37 wheels on eBay ($500 shipped) and had them mounted today (17x8./5 with zero offset). Totally different look than stock; I love these wheels. Quality seems pretty good for the price. I almost went with gunmetal Level 8 MK6 wheels am glad I went with bronze on the green GX! Also plastidipped the grill over the weekend.

Finished up the platform build. I crawled into and out of the back several times without issue. I think it'll hold up for what I need out of it.

As you can see, next up is doing something about the sad net.

TPMS bypass complete, and replaced rear reverse lights with some Amazon LED’s. Next up... sourcing new interior parts I broke replacing said LED’s...
Classic. I did something similar the other day when I broke all of the interior rear hatch plastic surround so I could try to fix something on the spoiler.

Upgraded rear body to axle brake lines to Wheelers extended stainless steel lines. Figured I might as well get rid of the other old rubber lines up front and at the rear wheels too. I went with Stop Tech stainless steel lines from Amazon for the 4 corners. Fitment of all 6 lines is good, and now I don't have to worry about stretching the body to axle lines out at full droop.

Front - Stop Tech 950-44007
Rear - Stop Tech 950-44507
Axle - Wheeler's TF BLINE-17

battery talk.
Replaced Car Quest Autocrap silver 27f (expired in 3 years)... had 24 mo warranty (unknown if any prorated), the interwebs suggests CQ has Die Hards not not Autocraft (rebadged same-same? 🤔

with Napa legend premium 24f with 24month free replacement and 84 month prorated warranty.
My NAPA doesn't have a 27f in legend premium, just legend, which is only 18/72 and lower specs.
