I bought this truck..... I was convinced by a good friend that this truck was my future baby. I totally agree, I love working on it, I love its simplicity. I love things that just work. I’m a fj lover now. I’m not looking into throwing money into something to make it better that is already great. What would you do?

bring all your operating systems up to snuff, which you've already started on, n drive it. repair the body as time allows, n drive it. up grade at leisure, n drive it. i trust you see the pattern happening

You are well on your way to curing the ills of prior ownership . . .

Keep doing what you're doing, and drive it, a lot.

e.t.a.

Call it a sixty, or the "cruiser", not a 'fj' those are some other . . . ah, 'trucklet' .:worms:

Copy that. Already making needed repairs. Weld in new metal, paint it or raptor line it, new tires and new interior and fuel injection and head for the hills.,

Well, I got the chance to adjust the valves, Everyone of them were out of tolerance. All the gaps were to small. Did a compression test after the adjustment and #4 came back up in family with the rest. #1= 128psi #2- 125psi #3=130psi #4=120 psi #5=123psi and #6 =125psi. I can assume #4 was so far out of whack the exhaust wasn't closing all the way. Any thoughts? Runs noticeably better and quieter. I think I'm going to get rid of the carb all the smog and get fuel injection (any recommendations), Then upgrade the distributor to the DUI, replace hoses or age worn out items, get new tires. It has an old man 2.5" lift and I'm thinking 33'' x 10.5 on the original 15" wheels then drive it like a stole it.
Holy Sniper is by far the best mod ive done on my rig. Im also from Colorado and had terrrrrrrrible issues running at my cabin @ 9500' around town @ 7700' and 5000' whenever I went to Denver. Also, had a terrrrrible time startin in cold weather @ 9700'. All thos issues GONE!!! Drivability improvement 100 fold...no more worrying about stalling coming to a stop. Nothing I would suggest more. Really made driving my rig incredible!!! Im running a Dui. @Dustin Messina posted a fantastic thread about the process!!! GL!!

Awesome!! Looks like you are making quick work of it. With a fresh interior, body work and running well, it would be worth considering paint over raptor liner. Even a home brew spray can be done relatively inexpensive and look great. We painted my wife's 62 in our gravel driveway this summer (with some help from a friend). Turned out 10x better than expected - about $900 in supplies.

It's looking awesome - love the thread!

That is exactly what I wanted to here. The sniper is sitting in my cart waiting to place order. Looks like it's going to escalate to the front of the list. Thanks

Got some new shoes. FN 5 star wheels with my repurposed Hankooks. Starting to come together. More body work coming, hoping to have it primed the first week of March.

Saved the rockers, I though I was going to cut them out and weld rock sliders in there place.

After over a 100 man hours, I finally got the rusted piggy primed inside and out and raptor lined. I severely underestimated the amount of work this was. Looking forward to other projects not involving a welder, grinder, and sheet metal.

Thanks,

Us cargo control made it for me. I just gave them my dimensions. It was cheaper to install this than the OME headliner and it's functionable now. I'm working on putting in some Xmat heat/sound deadener, then I'll just store blankets and cold gear up in it.
@5four3too1 , way to get after it man. quick ? where did you source your "headliner problem solver". i like the idea.
