Yep, like a few already said, get an AISIN fan bracket and replace it. If you are anywhere near timing belt being due, do that at the same time since you are most fo the way there already when replacing the bracket.

I am replacing my TB soon and am thinking the following list should be replaced in process, correct?

1. Timing Belt
2. Water Pump
3. Thermostat
4. Serp Belt
5. Fan Bracket
6. Fan Clutch
7. Idler Pulley
8. Tensioner Pulley

anything else that “you might as well do while you’re in there”?

Crank seal (front main)
Cam seals IF they are leaking (most will not be).

How did this thread turn from a tech forum diagnosing a specific problem to general advice for TB services.

The same way arguments with a wife start out with something fairly innocuous and branch out to include everything you EVER did (that they remember). No reasonable explanation for it. It just happens. ;)

Seriously, most threads end up going off on tangents (usually related and usually beneficial).

If you are on the second TB/WP service, 180k mi, also do the radiator. It will fail soon thereafter.

Here is a list I had from the last time. I did all these items last go round. Check the part numbers yourself. I haven't looked at this in a few years.

any comments on the ASIN vs OEM Toyota water pumps? The ASIN pumps seems to have review that indicate they fail at a high rate and the OEM look like they are Made in China. What do folks use and is there a source I should consider?

as a follow up i purchased all oem parts to do the timing belt, water pump, fan bracket, fan clutch, new hoses, heater t's, new radiator.

the noise and wobble have seemed to go away.

can anyone here chime in if this sounds like its related to those 4 bolts that the blue part attaches to the fan clutch bracket?

'Noise' is quite often a poor diagnostic tool for narrowing down issues at the front of an engine....simply because it could be SO many things.

Removing the serpentine belt, hand turning each pulley/component to look for issues is the first step. If nothing notable found then start the engine (serp belt still removed) and see if the noise is still present. IF it is....then we know it isn't related to any of the external pulleys/components. Don't run the engine for more than a few minutes.

So....you'd be looking at items behind the timing belt covers. (Timing belt, Water Pump, Tensioner, Idler pulleys).

Yeah, I am going to try that but I have a NEW problem now, now it wont crank/start. Nothing happens when I turn the key, might be that the starter solenoids i replaced a year ago are going bad again. The weird part is it shows 9 volts, even when trying to start it and even when a jump box is attached. That makes me think its the terminals...?
