Hi Mudders!

Long time lurker of the site and all it's amazing information. First time poster so here goes:

Last year I pulled the trigger on a 1992 FJ80 with the 3FE engine. Never owned a land cruiser before but loved my 3rd gen 4Runner and had to make the leap to the big boy Toyota. From my research so far I believe it's been desmogged as I have none of the funky business going on in the driver side part of the engine bay and it's capped off. Looks professionally done and haven't had any of the issues the 3FE group mentions with the desmogging.

Followed the amazing baseline article (Comprehensive Baselining List) when I first purchased it along with taking it to a local mechanic that only services land cruisers. He gave it a clean bill of health with a few minor issues (mainly rust due to it being in Alberta its whole life. Damn salty winter roads!)
Here's what I've done so far:
1. Had an annoying exhaust rattle/somewhat rough idle so I replaced the mounting bracket under the driver side door.
2. New front brakes
3. All new fluids. None of them looked particularly bad but I like to know where I'm starting from. Biggest one was flushing the coolant system to get whatever junk the PO had in there out and replaced with Toyota red.

And that's pretty much it. I've been driving it for a little over a year with regular oil changes. I noticed a bit of an oil leak so I brought it back to mr. landcrusier expert and he recommended doing the valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and the main seal. From everything I've read I doubt the main seal needs replaced and it looks to be a mountain of work.

After stumbling on to the 3FE tune up thread (General 3FE Tune Up Info) I'm definitely looking to do the valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket myself. Has anyone had any luck getting Toyota parts to Canada without bending over at the dealership? I've got my parts list together and see that toyotapartsdeal.com seems to have everything I want except the foot rest. Has anyone had any luck with these guys? Seems like just a middle man to the dealerships but if I can order through the States there's most likely some potential for savings as Canadian parts prices are absolutely bananas.

Here is what I think I need, any input is much appreciated:
1. Parts for the valve cover gasket and the "nice to do while I'm in there":
90919-01091 - Spark plugs 1.1mm gap
90919-21503 - Spark plug wires
11213-61020 - Valve cover gasket
90210-13001 - Valve cover gromets x4
19101-61240 - Distributor cap
19102-61240 - Distributor rotor
19127-61240 - Distributor cap gasket
12204-35040 - PCV Valve
90480-18001 - PCV Valve Grommet
17801-61030 - Air Filter x2 (always nice to have an extra)
99555-10200 - Cut to fit water hoses
90999-92003 - Vacuum lines x12 (not sure if I need all 12 being that the engine is desmogged?)

2. Me trying to feed the electrical gremlins:
28226-72010 - Starter Motor Terminal Repair Kit x2
90982-08264 - Fusable Links x2 (always nice to have an extra)
82670-60040 - Fusable Link Junction Block - mine is just dangling beside the battery box and seems pretty thrashed.

3. "Wants"
52103-60030 - Driver side bumper cap
58192-60020 - Footrest (seems to be discontinued? equivalent part out there?)
12151-61011 - Oil pan gasket
17801-68020 - Brake fluid cap and float assembly
67771-12050 - Retainer clips x10 - for when I break all of them trying to get into my tailgate to repair the missing bolt on the passenger side that holds the tailgate bracket in place.

Try ordering through partsouq.com . IDK if that will be better for Canada or not.

Some have suggested amayama . I have not used them, but some here have.

Also, look below, as there is another thread asking for amayama help and they pointed to Dave at Japan4x4.

Jealous of that front seat, interior looks like it’s in great condition.

Yeah definitely a huge plus with this truck. Interior is really mint, and at 198k on the odometer I'd say I'm just about past the break in period ;) Going to be going to an OME 2.5" lift once the current suspension is a little longer in the tooth.
