Sounds like a big turnout. I hate that I will miss it, but I'm headed to Moab in the morning for some pedal-powered 2-wheeling.
Hope you have some great rides at Moab. I used to go up there with my Mtn Bike. Moab rim, Gold spike, Poison Spider, Porcupine,Slick rock trail at night in a thunderstorm, WOW, that was wild, and some others. I will be hiking around the campsite, looking for good slick rock riding opportunities, but there are many nice two track riding in the La Ventana area.

Last weather update for this weekend for La Ventana campsite.

Rain and snow in this area by early Monday morning

MOON set around midnight, about 40-50% illumination , 1st quarter waxing

Come on out to camp, one or both nights . Sat Day ride planned. meet at campsite around 10 am, or join a caravan at Home depot , hwy 550. See details, earlier, in this thread. The Van Man, Stephen knows the way. Follow the VAN!!!

I am arriving at campsite by mid afternoon, on Fri and will stay all weekend , if others plan to. No cell service at campsite, so once I am out there, you can't talk to me, except in person. I have HAM but don't plan on continuously monitoring it. I will be hiking, once I set up camp.

Look for yellow ribbon at 1.hwy turn off, right side of hwy, 2. at left turn, by arroyo, and 3. turn off to campsite. Stay on main dirt road. Other turns you will take have no other choices. If you have GPS, I have posted those coordinates. Turn off from Hwy 550 is onto an old poorly paved road, to the east, toward the mesa and mountains, with its ROAD CLOSED sign, just up that road. It turns off pavement, right, onto a dirt road. In about 2 miles look for a left turn, yellow ribbon, at a fork in the road. The dirt road dips into and out of an arroyo.. A couple hundred yards, look for yellow ribbon, on right side of road, for campsite turn off. Directly across from a large solitary sandstone rock formation. Drive into trees and you are there, not to far off the dirt road. Find a site and set up your camp. See you there.

Let me know if you want to convoy up with us. Home Depot on 550 at 9:00. My top speed is 62 mph so it’ll be a slow convoy if you’re interested. Text me at 505-235-0274.
Sounds good, we'll catch you at the Home Depot. Thanks!

I just posted a list of people, at the start of this thread, who said they will camp, do Sat ride, or are a maybe for the camp out weekend.

Sounds good, we'll catch you at the Home Depot. Thanks!

I will be parked in my van at the west end of the parking lot.

I will be out at campsite by early afternoon today. See you all out there.
