fuel filter bleed screw leak? (1 Viewer)

Hi all.
No biggie but my bleed screw from the fuel filter assembly weeps. 1988 hj75 troopy 2h diesel. Should I just replace the screw or should I put some sort of copper washer. ? Thread goop does not make sense in this spot. I imagine I lose some fuel pressure. Thanks in advance
 
If it is the type of bleeder screw shown here, then the seal is made between the conical end on the "plug" and the mating surface in the "screw". If tightening the plug doesn't stop the weep, then try replacing the plug and clean the seat in the screw. If that doesn't work replace the screw. If it is leaking at the banjo fitting on the fuel pipe, that is sealed with washers, so you can try replacing those.
