FJ55 heater blower motors, are they all the same? (1 Viewer)

1968-7/80 FJ55

Looking at defining my kits to be exact year specific.

If Not, who has a junk heater that want to unload. Not looking for a nice one, just one I can fully take apart.

No they are different. I have to check fiche, but I think from 68-9/'73 is a sheetmetal box, similar to the fj40's but it requires a bit more foam since the flapper door is longer.

the post 9/73 ones are plastic, like the fj40's...

I have both, but would need them back...

motor on bottom, I converted to a filament style resistor, so it should have the ceramic tube style.

can someone helped me with the above thread? I have 68-73 sheet metal blower motor housing.Anyone know what blower motor will fit it?

so here’s my blower housing. As you can see it’s all chewed up. I grinder off rust.
But this housing has like a 6 bolt motor and it’s made of sheer metal. It’s also significantly smaller than the plastic 3 bolt housing I see online.

the plastic 3 boots housing do not fit on my early ‘73 so I have to use this housing, fix it and find a new motor that will fit

I have this, but not sure if anything off it will work for you. Wasn’t sure what it came off until you posted those pics. Now I’m thinking it must have come out of a RHD 1971 FJ55, and would mount on the left side.

That housing looks the same as mine which is cool. Sheet metal

i could be wrong I but think they went to plastic and larger after ‘73
But yea idk why mine is a 6 bolt. Unless it was messed with in the passed.
Either way, Any bolt type I can make work, it’s just trying to find blower motor that fits. I tested a bunch at the parts store. I’m sure eventually I’ll find one.
