Shop talk, I presume.

He's talking about the way the surveying boundaries were marked (I think). Not Georgia but Alabama; probably done the same way in Georgia. :D

Ya surveying. I see Alabama now. I just saw the stamp that said Georgia and went with it.

I sold my to-be shop land in 45min for more than asking price!! Going to spend the profits on a 30x40 shop/basement at new house. Going to have 12’ ceilings so a lift will fit.

here’s the new lake lot. Its north of town, kind of weird shaped, but all I need is a shop and a deck facing west to drink beer on every night. I saw a bald eagle catch a fish when I was there. Its a must buy now.

Dude, you have some big things going on!!!

Dude, you have some big things going on!!!

Need a fresh start. Traveling in the FlyingPig, amazing kids, new shop with house attached, flying helicopters, guess it could be worse.

I think that goes without saying.

Only good thing to ever come out of GA was I-20

Got rear bumper mostly done. I want to build some sort of rear 1/4 protection. Haven’t decided what yet. Need a 90* drill for the last bolt hole on both sides and some braces/box in plates.

Going to paint this silly gas tank black. Really need to order my skid plate material.

more C- to B+ welding pics for your enjoyment!

Pigs in the wild!

i think I have my ‘69 pig sold to a good friend’s son. He drives a ‘77 Hilux now and is moving to Montana to work. His first time ever locking in hubs was on the ‘69. He’s hooked!

I have to extend my rear bump stops asap! Body eating the tires.

have a little driveline vibration. Not tires. Probably getting some adjustable rear upper links and play with pinion angle. My rear DS is much shorter than an 80 and i have about a 3-4” lift if it was on an 80.

Somebody smarter than me...

have a vibration:
-Feels like driving on mud tires, but it’s not the tires.
-rear DS is shorter than stock and I have about a 3-4” lift.
-Tcase and rear output flange are within 2* parallel of each other
-mostly goes away at speed with clutch pushed in
-worst under hard acceleration, some under decel
-new motor mounts
-new Tcase mounts
-new body mounts

-is it worth getting adjustable rear upper control arms to play with pinion angle? $$
-I know the DS is still spinning in neutral, but it’s not under a load

-or more likely all the new mounts are tight and just translating into the body?

its not bad, but would like to fix it. Not sure where to start or how to test it.

That much lift on at 80 chassis usually it’s needing a DC on the shaft up front, but you’re saying in the rear? Maybe too much angle there because you shortened it?

Tucker

Yes and yes

going to let a real mechanic drive it tomorrow and see what he thinks.

It’s vibration from all the running gear I slapped together being transmitted to the body? Or DS/pinion

don’t want to spend $$$ on links if it’s not the issue. Probably will though.

it’s not terrible. This is my road warrior though and want it to be right.

i may go drive right now and do some more testing

I’m thinking it’s less in neutral because there is not TQ rotating the rear pinion down. That extra 1-2* when it twists the diff down is the vibe. Makes the most sense.

and if it was motor mounts, just revving it up in neutral would translate to the body too.

new adjustable rear upper control arms here I come!
