Hi all.

Recently bought a 1987 hj61 high roof 60 series Landcruiser with a bit of an A pillar leak on the passengers side...

I've had a good read through some other threads but can't seem to find the remedy.

I am getting the leak coming down the outside of the a pillar coming from what seems to be the bottom right of the windshield, but when I follow the water tracks it looks to go further back towards the fender?...

I have just recently wire wheeled back the gutters, zinc coated, primed, and re chaulked, which seems to have solved my top a pillar leak, but not my bottom.
I have also gone into the windshield seal dug out the old hard sealant and replaced with new sealant, but that seems to have failed too.

Does anyone know if there's an area where water could be coming through up around the fender near the bottom right of the windshield?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

there is a plastic drain tube from the cowl into the inner fender, those will get plugged up, are they clean?

Doubt it! Will try get into these and clear them out.
How can I remove the cowl though? From what I can see it is attached to the fire wall?...

You don’t remove the Cowl, you remove the passenger side fender. You get access to the vent mentioned, but you also probably need to replace all the seam sealer behind there that cracked and leaking. That seals the area and keeps water out of the inside.

Thanks mate that's awesome! Ill give that a go as I think this is bang on the location of the leak.
Will let ya know how I get on once I get the car back. Shes going in for some much needed tlc today.

On the 60, there are also two drains on the bottom of the firewall that get plugged up from trash falling down from vents on hood. Try taking the biggest zip tie u have, n crushing leaves up so they fall out.

Looks like two gouges in the bottom o firewall from underneath, bout 3 cm wide..
