NV4500 finally arrived. We'll get the powertrain assembled and the motor mounts and trans crossmember set this weekend.

Little disappointed Advanced Adapter's transmission vendor just threw it on a pallet an strapped it down.. rolled over during transport and the shifter was out for the freight damage taking. NICE PACKAGING.. NOT! 👎👎👎👎 The little box with gear oil was loose from the strap holding it down and just thrown on the pallet when it arrived. At least they didn't lose it.

No damage occurred, but come on, treat your products and customers with a little respect...

AA might as well have used rubber bands or twister ties. With all the delays and who knows when another would ship, you have to thank the Land Cruiser gods the transmission was not damaged during shipment

Still waiting on your adapter........

I figured they would have blocked it somehow. At least covered it with a shell box.....

Well, we had a little delay in getting the drivetrain party started - my AA sales rep forgot about the flywheel, clutch/pressure plate, throw out bearing and pilot bearing. Parts ordered last week and just arrived....sans pilot bearing. Hoping that's an easy Napa type item - even though getting parts for a conversion is always a challenge there. Conversation usually goes something like this:

Me: I need a pilot bearing for a Chevy LS3 to a NV4500 manual transmission - has the standard 1 1/8" input
Parts Counter: What is this for?
Me: An engine swap
Parts Counter: What vehicle is this going into?
Me: Technically a '74 Toyota FJ40
Parts Counter: That vehicle doesn't have that engine option
Me: Yes, I understand - it's an engine swap
Parts Counter: Ok, well I need something to use for the catalog
Me: Ok, the engine is from a C6 Corvette or Camero SS
Parts Counter: So, that's 2wd, correct?
Me: Nope, 4wd
Parts Counter: I need the correct vehicle information or you'll end up with the wrong part
Me: I'm trying to give you everything needed - next you'll want the vehicle color
Parts Counter: No need to be a smarta$$
Me: :bang: :bang:

AA screwed the pooch again on the trans output shaft seal... too small for the oversized Atlas outers.

All bolted up, but the Atlas is just "in position" until the correct seal arrives. Also there wasn't a clutch alignment tool supplied with the AA kit. Thankfully O'Reilly had one in stock this morning..................

So the Atlas/NV4500 seal conspiracy is solved.... I measured and found a seal that would work.

Advanced Adapters tech said they just pull the seal and silicone the two together... **** off and go pound sand. My god this is your career... you'd think you'd at least try to do your damn job half-assed right.

So! the seal that AA/AA vender supplied... NO WORKY, NO WAY IN HELL... After a few minutes of measuring and searching... the correct seal was sourced! Seal is a perfect fit, case fits up perfect and NO DAMN SILICONE ON A 7500.00 assembly... TWATWAFFLES!!!

AA SUPPLIED--- YEAH THIS ISN'T GONNA WORK!

FYI - I sourced the seal from Fastenal, if anyone else needs one.

Subscribed, this should be good
