I am in need of a vacuum modulator, and found this aftermarket unit from eBay with significant saving. It is listed as being compatible with FZJ80. Anyone has good or bad experience with aftermarket vacuum modulator like these?

What year/model LC do you have? The part number given above does not
appear correct for a 93-97 FZJ80.

I think @Kernal is right, I don’t think that would fit on a FZJ80. I actually have a Toyota OEM vacuum modulator I don’t need. The previous owner put a new one on my truck about 1.5 years and 10,000 miles ago, it’s still in like-new shape. I deleted my EGR so it’s useless to me. M If you’re interested, I’ll give it to you for $50 shipped, feel free to PM me

@Kernal My Land Cruiser is a 1996. Yes, this unit is not likely compatible with FZJ80. I would have buy it to test compatibility and return it if it is not compatible; however, my CEL EGR code takes a very long time to reoccur so I may end up not being able to return.

@TriaxialBulls I just bought a new blue top unit before I saw your message, but thank you anyways.

Unfortunately the P0401 code is often due to more than just a bad Vacuum modulator (although that is one cause). Do a search for P0401.

Yes, I am removing my intake to clean everything out and replace all vacuum hoses. I also tested all devices in the EGR system and so far only the modulator failed. I will count myself lucky if the modulator is the only failed device in my EGR system ;)

I replaced my vacuum modulator with OEM Toyota and it was only around $40. Better to do it once than twice.

Its not a very hard part to manufacture, but I like knowing there is probably nothing wrong with it for another decade.

Where did you find a new OEM modulator for $40?
