I saw the fender trim gasket in person and it will pass for 99.9% of the people Mike will be the .1%.

Lucky for him he snagged the OE rear sets that have the LX450 specific padding to go around the lower moulding while they were still available. Alas, I was not so lucky. At least the color will match.

I'm actually thinking about not using it. I think I can get away with the 4-Runner pad without it looking funky. I will mock it up and upload some picts.
If you don't use them, any chance you'd be up to sell? I am definitely curious to see photos with the 4runner pads though. I suppose it would look more consistent using all the same material.

Sure. You have first dibs on the beige rear flare pads if I do not use them. I figure it may look weird to have two different color pads meeting up at the gap between the rear door/quarter flares. I may prefer to keep it the same color and just manage the look of the rear quarter cladding. I really think its going to look just fine.

These pins and the metal flare bolts have a thin fiber washer that goes between the body and pin/bolt....I ordered the flare bolts but still need a washer solution for them...the washers are very thin but still much heavier than the one on the part above. ..I tried a neoprene washer but it was too thick...I could make something....do you know if the oem washers for the flare bolts are available?These?

Also chose to go with the 4Runner fender pads on the rear instead of the LX450. I think the difference is negligible, and I’m pretty damn picky.

Some photos of how I applied the 3M VHB tape to back of 4Runner fender pads.
Is it possible to pull the old pads out and put in these 4Runner pads without removing the flares?

Probably. Would not be easy. Would require loosening all the nuts and pulling the flares away from the fenders enough to remove and reinstall the pads.
My pads were very dry and brittle and left some dried adhesive on the fenders that needed removal. I have to say no matter how difficult, it’s easier than removing the cladding.
The only area that might give you some trouble is the forward portion of the rear flare. That one has some retaining clips that may need to be popped out to give you the clearance needed to replace the pad.

All done and in the sun the pads look perfect. Could not be happier with my choice.
