I have restored a 1964 International Scout 80 4x4 with the half V8 engine. The positive wire to the battery gets hot. I have replaced the alternator, regulator, condenser, points, plugs, plug wires, rotary button, distributor, and coil. I have checked all the wiring connections but I must be getting a ground problem. Any ideas?

Starter or starter solenoid would be my guess.
Unless your harness battery lead is attached at the starter post.
