Does anyone have a clue what went here? I bought the car 2 weeks ago and don’t know wth was taken off. The pic is taken on the inside of the frame by the rear tires.

that would be the tube that the shocks attach to.
judging by the last pic with the rear part of the frame, it is quite rusty and will need some serious attention

I thought the crossmember was further down and by rear bumper? Not too mention that the holes are tubular, unlikewhat I imagine the crossmember would be, just judging from the front one...

So heres a tiny bit about my crossmember issue... It was badly cracked in two places and eventually failed from wall loss via corrosion. It amazes me that a semi-structural component on this truck was built from what effectively amounts to exhaust tubing. I digress.. First I started out by...

it won't be after the front leaf spring hanger breaks/ rips off the frame.

The shock cross member is tubular.

I don’t weld but I got a buddy that does. I saw some threads with some good ideas for fab work. Might try that
