OME heavy spring install....WTF!!! (1 Viewer)

Looks like a sharpie marking on the sticker indicating 41.5", not sure what the OEM length is.
So the ds was pulled off and given to me in 2 pieces. There is no grease or any excessive amount of grease in the slip end or the splines.
Does anyone have or know what the oem for an 87 would be? My ujoints will be here Friday and I will be taking to ds specialist after that. I am thinking the ds was altered or was custom from a po to address the saggy rear springs.

Eureka!!!! Spoke to B. at land cruiser specialist in Austin. Measurement 42.375! He told me every v8 conversion he has seen has an altered drive shaft. Now I don't have have bad dreams lol.

Although you didn't mention it before in this thread, I came to realize you had a V8 conversion. I found the for sale thread and it has a picture that, I think, shows the transmission mount in the OEM location. So if the transmission/transfer haven't moved, why does the drive shaft need to be longer with a V8 conversion? And why is it too long now? It seems the majority of experience says upgrading to OME springs does NOT require a drive shaft change.

Correct and I have no idea why...also spoke with Jimmy here near Austin he had a measurement of 42 7/16 on his son's. I have no idea what a po Has done. As soon as the new ujoints get here, I am taking to the ds guy. I will reply with results lol

Yes, I should have mentioned that she has a v8 conversion. Who would have thought a marks adapter to Toyota tranny/transfer case would need relocating s*** other than motor mounts..
