There's a 3/4" hole....or there should be.... that the hook goes into. Pretty simple setup.
Only pic I have on this computer...you can just see the holes on the inner rail.

kelly, the hook goes in upside down, facing down on the side rail hole, goes into the hole, spins 90 degrees and the "chain" goes into the tailgate, thru the hole onto the hook on the other side. I can face time you sometime to walk you thru it.
Post 655 is the key. If you try to put it in like 99% of the population would you'll simply drive yourself crazy.

Here are some other pictures but can’t get in there good on the old bed. If I can easily find the new chains for the new bed I will get you better pictures. The end that doesn’t have a hook goes into the oval hole where there is a hook hiding.
You're now in a very elite group of people that can install that chain.
