Looking at my 2018 t-case I do not see a typical breather, is there one? I do have what is pictured.

I asked my shop, YotaMasters, that has done many 4R's and a few GX's now, that when I picked up my rig after suspension and all if I needed a diff breather extension and Eric, the owner, said he has never needed one and he does some extreme wheeling. Albeit, I do live down here in So. Cal.

There is this closed circuit hose in these pics but also that vent hose on last pic top left.

Thanks! I’ll have to give that another look!!

In the PNW and Canada this time of year and in late fall the creeks turn rivers and what was 1-2’ deep can be much deeper. So raised breathers are a must if you are concerned with your gear lube life.

Saw some 4R posts the AT and Transfer Case breathers are up against the firewall area behind engine/above AT.

Here is a schematic showing them bundled together AT & transfer case.

Below is 460 schematic

Since you didn't ask, I assume you know, but wanted to offer it up anyway: Here's a genuine Toyota union that fits the rear axle breather location to allow for extending it as well as some 3/8" ID tube that fits both the union and the old breather. I just relocated mine with them, fished it up the gas tank fill tube and terminated it just behind the spill seal for the gas door. Got good enough access from behind the fender liner to zip tie it all in place.

jmanscotch: Did the stock breather unscrew fairly easy? I figured a shot of PB blaster and soak time just to be safe.

I am going to eventually do that as well on my rear up to gas tank fill area. Can terminate with this OEM part as well
