Fantactic build, I always look forward to the thrilling installment.
The extra instrument pod ( Center, above the dash top), is this Toyota and do you have a part number?? Mind yo, I'm still interested even if it's not Toyota.

Yes the pod is Toyota but I am not using the factory altimeter gauge and putting my fuel and filter gauges in it. I’m still waiting on the aluminum face plate to be cut. Every now and then they pop up for sale in the classified section.

Are you going to be running any of the factory warning lights? I had a buddy make up a few aluminum business card blanks as a warning light panel and zapped it on his fiber laser. I drilled them and added 3mm LEDs, which I think look nice.

Today was a good day. Wiper circuit is now done thanks to @Onur for getting me the proper schematic and @bottombracket for letting me open up his never used 79 series harness for verification. Also learned what a “short pin” is in a Toyota schematic. Its just a jumper pin connector. I assume it’s used if there is no intermittent wipers.
Benched tested the wipers and washer inside the house and I think I can now clear off the kitchen table but I have said that before.

Congratulations, Cim. I remain in awe.

Out farking standing.

The other item I knocked out this weekend was the 6’ long dipstick tube that has been in my way. Finally ordered the proper truck version.

New dipstick is almost 2’ shorter

Also starting to prep for exhaust. I got in a weldable 4’ exhaust flange for the HE351 turbo.

Everything’s bigger in Texas.

Most of the inside cowl harness is done so I started adding loom and tape to the sections that have been tested. I got the fancy Tesa tape which is awesome stuff. They make lots of different types. This one is for interior wiring. I’m mainly using loom instead of just taping the s*** out of it.

Resist the urge! Electrical tape is the devil! You go to do anything later and it's all a gooey, gummy mess that'll have you tearing your hair out and considering whether it's better to just rewire everything.

i had enough of the gooey stuff stealing wire from the 80 series harness I had. That s*** doesn’t come off your hands very easily.

I rolled the truck outside for a garage deep cleaning. Needed to find more space for all the parts I had inside the house. I think I have everything organized decently now.

Organized and boxed up all my new parts for reassembly.

This side is the work side. It is what it is as I can’t do much more in my small space.

I got a few things done this weekend. I started off hoping to get the bumper mocked up but my plasma wouldn’t work so I couldn’t get the 70 series mounts off the bumper. It will have to wait until tomorrow using a friends plasma at work.

Once that project was postponed I managed to mount my alternator fuse and finish running the alternator cable.

Then I started staring at the big space which is not even close to being big enough to run a Donaldson type air canister housing like in my 80. It uses two filters, inner and outer. I do not want to run a cheap cone filter or anything like that. I even thought of mounting the air housing to the fender but I don’t think I can find one that fits. Everything that has a 4” inlet and outlet are huge.

Got a few hours in for bumper mock up. We used the plasma at work this morning to burn out the old mounts.

New mounts mocked up with wood so it would hold up the bumper without help. It got dark on me so I couldn’t get good photos. I don’t know how far out I want to place the bumper yet. I may make a few wood templates of various heights and lengths to figure out what looks the best as I think it needs to go up another 1/2” or so. I also need to have room to mount a winch somehow. I would like to knock this out this week so I’m not stepping over the bumper anymore.

The bumper has a slight forward lean.

More bumper adjustments and some better photos. Does it look like proper placement? Does it need to move in still? I don’t have another truck around to compare.
