More like 2 weekends ago, but OME heavy+ complete suspension installed. Thanks @cruiseroutfit ! Sitting on 32x11.5 15 for now.View attachment 2214312
G'day Beerfix, lookin' good👍🏻 So with the OME heavies, that's around a 2" to 2 1/2" lift over stock, right?
I'm still tossing up between 32 11.5 R15 and 33's once I've done a lift on my FJ62. Currently has stock (tired) springs and 31 10.5 R15.
Cheers mate.

Thank you! As far as lift over stock, I couldn't tell you. It added almost 4" over my totally worn out stock springs. I'll be going with 33" tires once these are worn out. Possibly a 16" wheel too at that point. It opens the options a little over the 15" rim.

Cool, thanks for the info, sounds about right considering we're comparing against sagged stock springs. I wouldn't want to go any higher with my rig, I plan on keeping it fairly low key. Looking at yours, I reckon I'll go with 32 11.5 R15 tyres, I like the way yours looks, and my gearing won't be affected too much.
Yeah, you're right about having 15" rims, tyre choices seem to diminish as each year passes!
Thanks again mate.

Shocks.jpg

Replaced my 12 year old OME shocks with some 5125's. The old shocks were pretty well shot. Also upgraded my rear speakers with some Infinty 6.5's.
That is 2 more items off the checklist!

Installed an oil catch can and this is how much crap I got from it after about 600 miles...
(about 3 or 4 oz)

Flushed and bled the brakes after not driving it for a few weeks and found the pedal feel a little soft for my taste. Got a few cups of nasty brown fluid out of the rear lines… almost rounded off a bleeder but managed to get it to move.

Also went poking around the dash troubleshooting why my stereo had no sound even though the head unit did. Must have touched the right loose connection because sound came back. Gremlins, man. I did find a vacuum actuator and control box for an old cruise control, but no connection to operate it.

Got my new fuel sending unit. Needed hardware to mount so took the boy to the hardware store.

Got home tonight and calibrated the sending unit and Speedhut fuel gauge.

Have been going off mileage as the stock fuel sender was so unreliable. Tomorrow will mount the new fuel sender.

Have you got a shot of how much the inner fender gets adjusted for the shock tower?

Drove it up into the mountains today to pick up some logs:

Here's what we came for:

Local power company dropped a dozen LARGE cedar trees on a buddy's property. We pulled them out and will mill them into dimensional lumber + siding. This trip (2nd one so far) was ~18k lbs worth. One more to go probably. LC continues to run like an absolute champ.
